Duties & Responsibilities
Overseeing the Chemical and Microbiology Lab
Overseeing Quality control system documentation and report non-conformances.
Providing computer generated reports, graphs and trending.
Supervising quality controllers.
Ensuring that all requirements for FSSC 22000 and any other Food Safety Management System are met.
Make sure export, import and Meat safety act requirements are met.
Make sure factory and personal hygiene is to the acquired standard.
Make arrangement for and assist with external audits.
Make sure corrective action is carried out for audits, non-conformances, customer complaints as well as for internal audits.
Plan and administrate internal audits.
Make sure Pest Control service provider is providing the appropriate service.
Coordinate external audits.
Make sure Quality management system is updated when there are changes.
Give feedback on Customer complaints to head office and to Production.
Arrange Quality, HACCP and Management review meetings and take minutes. Make sure required action are taken as discussed.
Desired Experience & Qualification
To be considered for this position the applicant will need to have the following minimum requirements:
National Diploma or Degree in Food Technology/Biotechnology.
Min 3 - 5 years’ experience in the meat industry.
Good communication skills in English and IsiZulu proficiency will be an added advantage.
Computer Literacy is essential.
Must be willing to work extended hours and/ or required.
Must be able to handle work pressure.
Good knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems including:
Root Cause Analysis
Understanding FSSC 22 000 V5.1
Internal Auditing training will be an advantage
Package & Remuneration
R30 000 to R35 000 CTC per month, negotiable on experience and qualifications
