A challenging opportunity exists for a dynamic professional with proven strategic leadership skills and the relevant technical expertise to drive customer focused services that are best performed at the corporate level in the disciplines of delivery of bulk water services in the context of Water Services Act; partnerships with municipalities in the context of Municipal Finance Management Act and; affordable quality water in the context of KZN service area.
To grow and retain existing markets, develop new markets, maintain or improve quality of service, ensure operational resilience, health & Safety and develop competence of staff, implement new strategy objectives and provide divisional leadership.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline / or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification • a Master’s Degree in Engineering, an MBA / MBL in the relevant field of study will be an advantage • Professional Engineering Registration with ECSA •A combined working experience of 10 years of which not less than 7 years functioning at a senior management position including experience in the water sector • Understanding of municipalities environment • considerable knowledge and experience on formulation and implementation of strategic water service delivery • A thorough knowledge and understanding of supply of bulk water, as well as the planning at local government sphere and exposure to unionized environment.
Knowledge and Skills: An understanding of water industry trends • A good knowledge of water sector and related legislative framework• Knowledge of Corporate Governance theory and practice, e.g. King IV Corporate Governance Framework • A good understanding of Legislative and Commercial Systems • A good understanding of contract, commercial, corporate and public law • Proficiency in written and verbal communication • End user computing skills in Microsoft applications and Integrated ERP systems • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles • In-depth knowledge of general management best practices • An innovative mindset with outstanding organisational and leadership skills • Analytical Ability and inductive Reasoning • Relationship Management • Integrity • People management • Interpersonal skills • Systematic, organized, high energy and results driven • Persuasive •
