A renowned company is looking for an HR Manager to join their dynamic Team.
Industrial Relations and Compliance Management ? Minimize risk and ensure protection of the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations. ? Ensure compliance with legislation & policies and avoidance of unfair labour practice with regards to HR related matters, staff management and procedures ? Ensure HR matters are dealt with cost effectively (such as disciplinary action, dismissals and recruitment) ? Timeous submission of statutory reports that is in line with Company strategies ? Coordinate company use of insurance brokers, insurance carriers, pension administrators, and other outside providers ? Determines and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation. ? Lead the development of department goals, objectives, and systems. ? Provide CCMA representation where required ? Provides leadership for Human Resources strategic planning ? Develops and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. ? policy development and documentation; ? Coach managers on how to successfully, ethically, honestly, and legally communicate with employees ? Ensure the General Manager and the executive team are informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of company goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the line management level. ? Ensure terms and conditions of Union written agreement are compiled to matters raised by union representatives are addressed and given feedback ? Conduct a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to ensure that they are aligned with the laws of SA. ? Handle Retrenchments and incapacity cases
Payroll Administration and Support ? Establish the company wage and salary structure, policies, and variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and raises. ? Establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff and cost containment. ? Monitor best practices in compensation and benefits ? Maintain employee files and related records by quarterly employee file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation/ record are updated and maintained ? Ensure compensation and benefits administration; ? Maintain filing system for all HR related documents ? Ensure accurate monthly payroll input and submission ? Perform Ad-hoc tasks as required by General Manager
Discipline and Performance Management ? Provide support to employees, supervisors and management on IR & HR related matters (i.e. disciplinary action, performance management & reviews) ? Ensure staff correspondence and interaction on a monthly basis on HR related matters within the business ? Escalation and coordination of HR related matters to external parties where required ? Ensure HR presence is created within business ? Address and assist to resolve staff matters ? Develop and implementation of performance management and improvement systems/program for poor performing employees ? Ensure up to date role profiles and performance contracts for all required staff ? Implement processes and initiatives to provide support to operational staff to address HR related matters ? Select and supervise outsourced consultants, attorneys and training specialists ? Ability to practice and coach organization managers in the practice of a high level of confidentiality. ? Monitor and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company. ? Ensure effective management of staffs’ performance and discipline and implement initiatives required to improve health of discipline and performance 4. Skills Development, Employment Equity and BBBEE Reporting ? Develop and implement a cost effective BEE strategy for each financial year ? Coordinate all Human Resources training programs to meet BEE targets ? Assign authority/responsibility of Human Resources and managers within those programs ? Execute, coordinate and document plans and strategies related to BBBEE, EE, SDL within business ? Develop and review a Employment Equity Policy document on annual basis ? Accurately track and provide monthly progress reports on BBBEE strategy ? Ensure that the Human Resource maintains BBBEE budget ? Do an analysis to identify training needs through Skills Development Planning and ensure Annual Training Reporting ? Record keeping of all employee training for skills development and BBBEE reporting purposes ? Ensure Annual Employment Equity reporting ? Assist to develop a Workplace Skills Plan and Employment Equity Plan; ? Identify potential barriers for Employment Equity that might exist and develop strategies to overcome these barriers; ? Provide training to the Employment Equity committee ? Ensure annual submission of EEA2 and EEA4 reports to the Department of Labour
Ensure company-wide committee facilitation 5. Staff Management and Recruitment ? Coordinate and ensure recruitment and termination procedures are complied with of all staff on all occupational levels ? Formulate job descriptions and recruitment brief ? Ensure staff appointments are in accordance to the recruitment ? Ensure that all employee roles are clear and well defined ? Ensure employee on boarding, development, needs assessment, and training; ? Manage employee communication and feedback through company meetings, newsletters, one-on-one meetings and internal communication methods ? Provide support in identifying internal/external personnel suitable for vacant roles and succession planning ? Ensure coordination of contract of employment, offer of employment, policies implementation and termination of all staff
QUALIFICATIONS ? Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources ? Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word) ? Valid drivers license ? Own transport ? Fluent in both oral and written English EXPERIENCE REQUIRED ? 5+ years working experience in Human Resource Management ? Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions. ? Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). ? Previous working experience with Trade Unions ? Ability to deal with complex business issues, such as HR transformations, organization restructure etc. ? Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation ? Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, training and preventive labor relations (preferred) ? Familiar with competency model design, Organization design, HR transformation, etc; ? Previous experience with multinational management consulting firm (advantageous) ? Ability to meet travel requirements, when applicable. ? Experience with employee wellness and health services and counseling. ? Experience in development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals ? Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR department staff members. ? Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team that provides overall company leadership and direction
