Our client, an esteemed mortgage origination company based in Durban is seeking a resilient and assertive Senior Credit Analyst to join their dynamic team.
Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess credit worthiness of applicants (mortgage and other credit products) through undertaking detailed risk assessment analysis on clients and lending applications
Specialist in assessing complex deals as well as self-employed applications
Ensure that procedures and decisions comply with credit policy and best practice standards
Motivate and support decisions through the analysis of financial information such as bank statements, financial statements and management accounts
Provide quality service to internal customers and liaise with other staff within the company, such as sales managers, further lending staff, unsecured lending staff and registrations officers
Stay informed about the legal, compliance and market - risk-related issues involved in the approval of credit
Provide regular feedback on the submission of loan applications to management
Assist in training, supervising and mentoring new/other staff members if and when required to do so by Credit Management
Ad hoc reporting when required by Credit management
Profile
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualification:
BCom Finance/ Accounting Degree or relevant business degree
Preferred Qualification:
Experience as a Credit Underwriter/Analyst for a minimum of 2 years
