Location: Centurion, Gauteng
Description: A company in the alternative and complementary health market is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to join their team. Responsibilities include: oversee Quality Assurance, including hazard analyses, identifying control points and preventive measures, monitoring procedures and corrective actions; raw material authentication and raw material test design; finished goods design, test method validation and in process validation; stability test design, test method validation, and stability costing, implementation and tracking; development of quantifiable FTIR finished goods test methods; validation of quality processes by documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures; maintain, improve and review product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance and surveillance audits; investigate customer complaints; advise technical team of issues found that will assist them with development of new products or change in current products; prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations; assist with overseeing the laboratory and pilot batch manufacturing process; update job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations; keep current with GMP procedures and requirements; provide efficient quality assurance support service with regards to: complaints, recall, returned / rejected goods, GMP/GWP/GHP, assisting with CTD generation with regards to Module 3S and P; identify and timeously address problems and opportunities central to business success; establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders; ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements, meet principles of sound corporate governance and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and quality standards.
Key Requirements: BSc or BTech Degree (Quality or Food Technology) with at least 5 years industry-related experience. Formal training in Quality Management System (ISO 9001: 2008 standard), HACCP and GMP required. Extensive experience with pharmaceutical and Quality Management essential.
Additional Requirements: Implementation experience of quality standards is essential. Sound knowledge of Quality Assurance and Control fundamentals including product specifications and grading, quality procedures, standards and product storage. Management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy skills. Excellent problem solving/decision making skill.
