Our client in the mining industry is looking for an Engineering Specialist - Winders to join their team in Limpopo.
The Engineering Specialist - Winders is responsible for providing dedicated technical and operational winder support to the mining operations. The role requires competence in instrumentation, motor control and safety systems as used on winders. The role is further responsible to mentor and assist winder maintenance staff for the safe and reliable operation of the winders at the operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Work is performed to “Zero Tolerance” principles
Must demonstrate a broad general technical expertise in the control and operations of winders
Utilise a variety of tools, techniques and procedures to resolve problems
Participate in, and support, cross functional teams
Identify, verify and isolate problems, work to resolve problems
Provide quality technical services to internal clients
Must understand and support the overall business principles
Must demonstrate appropriate technical skills
Safe achievement of production performance levels through the effective maintenance of equipment operations
Strive for “best in class” maintenance performance from the winder discipline with minimum down time attributed to machine breakdowns
Detailed knowledge of location and availability of group spares
Adherence to company Change Procedures
Adherence to company standards and procedures
Contribute to the planning and scheduling effort for winder work
Desired Experience & Qualification
NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12, with Maths and Natural Science
N4 / N5 / N6 Qualifications
Trade Certificate – Electrician / Millwright / Mechanical
Minimum of 5 years' experience required, with specific 2 years' experience on winders
Valid driver’s license
Computer literate in full MS office
