Coordinator-Market and Research Analyst – Pretoria – R1 250 800pa
The Coordinator: Market and Research Analyst will be responsible for identifying the needs of the business and developing plans to determine the overall direction it should take to deliver on its long-term strategy. Among other functions the successful incumbent will perform specialist feasibility analysis, impact assessments and advice on the optimization of revenue and resources. The incumbent must have multi-disciplinary comprehension of the business environment as well as an appreciation of the operations of state-owned enterprises and public sector.
Identify, aggregate, and analyse data to communicate situational analysis and market conditions.
Assess operations and initiatives to identify areas for growth, resolve issues, and increase shareholder and stakeholder buy-in.
Analyse competitors, customers, environment to provide data measurable recommendations.
Research and drafting of position papers:
Conduct empirical research and desktop studies across a variety of specialist areas in support of organisational performance.
Draft position papers informed by research conducted to enhance organization’s efficiency and performance.
Conduct research focused on optimization of resources and technological capabilities and communicate findings to top management.
Conduct Market and Trend Analysis:
Obtain and analyse market data and extract relevant information; interpret data for benchmarking, forecasting, scenario planning to inform company performance.
Correlate market data to Business Development pillars to assist in predicting demand by market segment.
Develop and maintain analytical models.
Conduct trend analysis of consumer demographics, preferences, needs, and perception relating to company commercial services.
Analyse data to draw both qualitative and quantitative conclusions.
Apply appropriate research methodology.
Develop and implement sampling plans.
Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data (Surveys, Questionnaires, and Opinion Polls).
Forecast future product and road user behaviour, attitudes and trends.
Gather road user or customer, competitor, and market condition data.
Hands-on experience with strategy and competitive analysis.
Help determine potential markets, product demand, and pricing alongside the business development strategy.
Measure effectiveness of marketing programs and strategies for commercial operations.
Promote and coordinate interventions or programmes to drive business innovation.
Discover new markets, leverage potential opportunities in new and previously untouched markets or sub-markets.
Solicit perspectives from stakeholders to promote feasible opportunities for innovation
Collaborate with the Technical Innovation Hub and other divisions to explore and develop workable concepts for implementation
Support and liaison with critical operational and commercial divisions (Business Development, Engineering, Finance, Transformation, Legal etc.)
Collaboration and liaison with the other business divisions in the organisation to deliver on objectives.
Promotion of alignment and coordination in the organisation.
Mastery and high-level understanding of the Corporate level strategy Horizon 2030, Business strategies and sub sector transformation strategies.
Ensuring and promoting horizontal and vertical alignment between divisions.
Business environment SOE’s and private sector; industry networks
Sound understanding of statistical concepts, research methods, and design
Familiar with appropriate research techniques
Experience in the use of Statistical Software to Analyse Data
Strong financial aptitude, an added advantage
Strong aptitude in market analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal communication skills.
Display a high level of professionalism: including accurate work, attention to detail, independent critical thinking.
Effective personal time management to meet deadlines, function in a team environment and work independently.
Ability to effectively multi-task to complete project work and special projects as required.
Must be extremely organized and be able to work with different departments and people.
Excellent analytical skills.
Proficiency in industry benchmarking, compiling research, and position papers - awareness of latest market and trend analysis along with innovation promotion
Able to successfully direct the activities and goals of technically oriented employees to accomplish company objectives.
Able to effectively communicate analytical marketing data to executive management and team members.
Experience in conducting exploratory market studies and making recommendations for strategy, policy, procedure and or action to improve business performance.
Proficient in business tools proven to deliver maximum performance results and optimize efficiency while increasing streams of revenue.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Civil Engineering, Commerce or Economics, or Finance
Civil Engineering or Transport planning qualifications are preferred.
7 year’s in the practice of Business Analysis and Market research in Planning, Engineering, Construction, Public/Private sector.
Excellent knowledge in the use of software applications (Excel, PowerPoint), databases, and spreadsheets.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related (advantageous)
