Job Description:
SHIFT MAINTENANCE MILLWRIGHT – North of Pretoria
Automotive Component Manufacturing concern in Rosslyn is looking to employ a Shift Maintenance Millwright with good knowledge of electrical and mechanical skills and PLC fault finding skills
Stable work record in the Automotive Component Industry is essential
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 + N5 / N6 + Trade Test as Millwright + Wiremans Licence
5-6 years working experience in the Automotive Component Manufacturing Environment
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Good knowledge of instrumentation
Good communication skills
Duties
Mechanical Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance
Commission and refurbish machines / equipment
Operate and monitor a drilling machine, lathe, milling machine, surface grinding machine
Operate the Electrical Discharge Machine to seal moulds
Perform basic MIG / TIG welding of metals
Pipe systems, static seals, bearings, brakes and clutches, direct drives, dynamic seals, heat exchanger and pressure vessels, lubricating systems, pumps , conveyor systems, compressors, fluid power / pneumatic / vacuum systems, gearboxes, safety valves
Electrical Maintenance
Design and construct single/ three phase circuits
Design and install electrical wire ways
Fault tracing on low voltage reticulation networks (220Vac, 110Vac, 24DC)
Install or replace and commission electrical equipment (lighting systems, electrical cables and conductors, earth leakage unit in a low voltage circuit, metering units or measuring instruments, low and medium voltage transformers, batteries, electrical wire ways, direct current (DC) machines three phase AC electrical circuits, machines and control gear)
Replace electrical equipment (electrical cables, faulty components in a distribution board
Fault find and repair single phase alternating current (AC) systems, three phase voltage electrical circuits
Disconnect and connect electrical motors
Maintenance – machine breakdowns on mechanical and electrical for all equipment
Update on progress of repairs
Capture all information related to the breakdown and determine the root cause
Mechanically cut, drill, punch and assemble fabrication material using powered machinery
Install instrument impulse lines
Test and commission machinery prior to handover
Complete the planned maintenance schedule
Identify any work required (including additional spares)
Participate in continuous improvement drives
Complete maintenance time sheets
Participate in the audit process
VALID DRIVER’S LICENCE WITH OWN TRANSPORT
