To support the Port Elizabeth Manufacturing plant to consistently and reliably produce and distribute products at the lowest possible cost in accordance with global benchmarked standards of reliability, quality, service and costs. This position will also highly entail Quality at source on all lines, Implementation of FSSC 22 000, Reduction in cost of poor quality, implementation of hygiene strategies and building sustainable SHERQ culture on site.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Ensure that at plant level, in liaison with the General Manager, that the company’s quality management strategic results are met
Consistently meet budgeted cost targets
Drive improvement initiatives and process improvement projects
Effective management of fixed capital resources
Lead the Intrinsic/Central Laboratory- and Extrinsic Packaging Material Laboratory, and Bottling Process Control teams
Ensure adherence to the company’s Quality Policy to ensure the consistent production of products that meet and exceed customer and consumer expectations
Facilitate problem solving in Quality, Cellar and Packaging environments.
Drive and assist with continuous improvement in Quality, Cellar and Packaging environment
Manage suppliers according to the company’s supplier development strategy
Ensure Quality Management systems compliance
Ensure human capital is utilised effectively and productively
Drive manufacturing plant efficiency
Improve the risk profile of the site
Consistently ensure SHEQ (Safety, health, Environmental and Quality) management practices are applied and the department conforms to regulatory and QMS (Quality management systems) requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
It is imperative that candidates must have previous experience/exposure in organisations that has a strong quality culture and also understand principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Tertiary qualification (diploma or degree) in one of the following fields; Natural Science, Food Science, Analytical Chemistry and/or relevant Engineering background
Relevant experience in leading teams at a managerial level preferably within an FMCG environment.
At least 3 years’ experience within a Quality Management (Intrinsic & Extrinsic) environment.
Sound knowledge of Quality Management System requirements, e.g. ISO 9001: 2015 and FSSC 22000 (food safety system).
Computer literate in MS Office suite.
