Job Description:
Our client, an esteemed mining company is seeking a Transformation Manager to ensure the implementation and monitoring of the company's Transformation initiatives
Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure implementation and monitoring of the company's Transformation initiatives, Social and Labour Plans, Local Economic Development goals and CSI projects and broader stakeholder engagements/consultations in line with company strategy and statutory requirements. Furthermore, the incumbent should ensure company's compliance to DMR Regulatory Framework that governs mining rights within the context of social license to mine.
BALANCED SCORECARD PILLARS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
Identify and assess level of issue based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to the business, financial and legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
- Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
- Manage SHEQ compliance within the Department through effective use of the Toolbox
- Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to analyse, identify trends, initiate, mitigate, investigate and report SHEQ status
PEOPLE
Manage the Department:
Ensure an enabling climate/culture
- Manage labour stability by minimising labour turnover
o Labour complement in line with budget
o Achieve HDSA/Female targets for the Department
- Manage performance against set targets and competencies
- Ensure IDP's are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
- Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
- Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
- Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
- Conduct recruitment interviews
CUSTOMERS
Maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders
- Ensure customer and supplier satisfaction
- Align Mining Development needs with Sustainable Community development
BUSINESS PROCESSES
Legislation:
Monitor and keep up to date with legislative changes that impact on transformation and community development and similar requirements of the MRPDA.
- Align company's strategies to legislative imperatives and regulatory framework towards achieving transformation goals.
- Develop guidelines and policies in order to implement and comply with the relevant Legislation /s (Labour Relations Act, Traditional authorities Act, EE Act, Skills Development Act, etc.)
- Provide information, advice and training regarding legislation that may have impact on transformation issues and processes
Transformation:
Identify and address issues that may create barriers to Transformation and community development
- Establish and maintain Business Unit & Stakeholders/Role-players engagement/consultative platforms to identify and address Transformation issues and processes
- Build a functional relationships in line with company's Transformation agenda and strategy
- Develop and manage SLP's, CSI and LED implementation strategies.
- Ensure that the Transformation Function meets principles of sound Corporate Governance
- Forge networks and relationship with relevant institutions
- Develop timeframes and deliverables frameworks
Social and Labour Plans:
Compilation, implementation and monitor Social And Labour Plans
- Compile monthly, annual and Closure Social And Labour Plan Reports and Submit to Department of Minerals Resources Facilitate Future Forums Meeting
Employment Equity Plan:
Compilation, implementation and monitoring of departmental and company Employment Equity Plans
- Facilitation of Employment Equity forum Meetings
Stakeholder Engagement:
To implement the Stakeholder engagement strategy
- Ensure continuous engagement with all relevant stakeholders (community and government) to forge and maintain cordial relations.
- Engage with government at local, provincial and national level
- Organize and coordinate community consultative meetings.
- Report on progress made on SLP commitments to Municipality, community and community based organization DMR and government departments
- Facilitate public private partnerships
Women in Mining:
Coordinate Women in mining programmes
Corporate Social Investment (CSI):
Identify and implement CSI projects through liaising with Community Stakeholders
- Coordinate all WCM informal Social Investment projects
Oversee the implementation of all identified Informal CSI projects
- Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders to ensure sustainability of community projects
- Controlling and allocating of CSI budget
Policies and Procedures:
Manage and Implement of all relevant policies, procedures, protocols, master forms and related documentation
Climate and Culture:
Track Group wide Climate and Culture trends
Reporting:
Social and Labour Plan Monthly and annual reports
Compilation of Mining Charter reports
Compilation of Employment Equity reports for submission (EEA2 and EEA 4)
Compilation of monthly EE reports on site
Oversee the reporting and submission of the BBBEE annual report

Research Community Cultural Diversity and traditions and assess the impact on the Organisation

Profile
Minimum qualifications:
Political Science or Human Resources Degree or National Diploma
8 years' relevant experience, preferably 2 years' managerial experience
