Job Description:
Our client, a reputable automotive manufacturing company based in Durban is seeking a skilled Manager Financial Reporting to fulfill the necessary requirements by providing timeous, reliable and accurate information to management and Holding company.
Description
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Accurately prepare monthly and annual financial results in terms of IFRS and management reporting,
Coordination of, and Timely and accurate reporting to holding company,
Timely and accurate variance analysis and meaningful explanations
Ensure compliant in terms of statutory requirements (SOX, IFRS, CO's Act, various Tax Acts),
Coordination and Preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
Timely reconciliation preparations
Monthly presentations to management
Liaising with Holding company regarding queries
Accurate SAP month end close procedures
Maintenance of SAP GL accounts.
Adhoc - Supporting requests from management
Coordinating and supporting audits from external auditors
Knowledge and understanding of the trial balance (Back to Basics)
Analysis and understanding of general ledger accounts
IFRS technical expert - New Accounting policy preparation and adoption
Financial Statement disclosure and preparation in terms of IFRS
Completion of various surveys
Preparation of information to support BBBEE requests
Group & company financial statements consolidation
Post retirement benefit accounting
Embedded derative understanding & calculation
Cashflow preparation in terms of IFRS
Financial Instruments understanding & disclosure
Capitalisation of borrowing costs calculation & disclosure
APDP understanding and accounting thereof
Preparation of detailed tax computations with current and deferred tax workings
Preparation of AFS disclosure in terms of IAS 12
Preparation of the monthly Group VAT 201 return for submission to SARS
Preparation of Income Tax & VAT cash flow forecast with variance analysis
Respond to SARS queries, drafting of ruling requests, submission of returns (Income Tax, VAT, Dividends Withholding Tax, Interest Withholding Tax) etc.
Analyse expenditure (repairs & maintenance, legal, consulting etc.) and provisions for correct tax treatment.
Assist with transfer pricing research in line with CbCR requirements.
Liaise with internal and external auditors in resolving queries
Profile
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
CA(SA), (Articles in Big 4 firm), post graduate tax qualification preferable
ERP system experience (SAP) - Maintenance & operational
3 - 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Actively proficient in applying IFRS
Proficient understanding, knowledge & application of the Income Tax Act, VAT Act & Tax Administration Act.
Demonstrate good management skills.
Advanced computer literacy (Essential) (MS Excel)
Good business acumen (Advantageous)
Overtime will be required
