GROUP PAYROLL MANAGER (Manufacturing) Montague Gardens
Provide leadership to the payroll department.
- Deliver accurate and timeous payroll service to all entities.
- Ensure employees are trained on new updates, e.g. legislative, systems as required.
Plan and execute a payroll strategy to support the processes and policies used in each payroll.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and Group policy.
Implement payroll protocols and controls across all entities and make sure these are documented and understood.
- Co-ordinate and implement continuous payroll audits at a company level and assist the Internal Audit team with annual audit reviews.
Maintain Resource Link system with parameter changes as required by legislation and business requirements.
Produce accurate and timely reporting of all data as required by the business and third parties.
- Prepare monthly reports by interpreting the analytics.
- Oversee and authorise monthly general ledgers and journals.
Facilitate the reconciliation & submission process of mid-year & tax year ends to the relevant tax authorities.
Ensure timeous and accurate submission of Return of Earnings to the Compensation Fund.
Provide an advisory service to human resources and senior management team regarding the payroll process and requirements.
Assist with the preparations for the annual increase schedules and provide internal benchmarking information.
Educational Requirements Payroll Diploma or equivalent qualification
B Com degree (or equivalent) – Desirable
Experience Requirements At least six years’ experience in the Payroll field in a medium to large organization in a management capacity
Should ideally have worked in the manufacturing sector
Broad knowledge of best remuneration practices
Extensive Payroll processing experience
Experience working in a shared services payroll environment
Skills & Competencies Strong leadership abilities
Demonstrating financial management and budgeting skills
Detail conscientious with strong numeric and analytical skills
Organisational skills to manage records, data and to meet deadlines
Advanced computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and other web-based applications)
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Ability to work in a complex, challenging and confidential environment
