Desktop Infrastructure Engineer
One of our internationally renowned companies is looking for a IT Infrastructure Engineer (Desktop) who will be responsible for all aspects of design, development, implementation, and support of the firm’s desktop infrastructure, ensuring that the Desktop infrastructure is maintained to the high standards required to provide resilient services to the firm and its clients, liaising with other teams, departments or offices as necessary.
This is a 100% technical role with focus on:
The IT Infrastructure Engineer (Desktop) is expected to have an excellent
working knowledge of all aspects of the Technology Infrastructure, supported
by the wider team.
In addition, in order to effectively support the services running on the firm's
technology infrastructure, a good general knowledge of all applications and
services provided to the firm is required.
The specific duties for this role include, but are not limited to managing, designing and implementing:
Microsoft SCCM – Microsoft and & 3rd Party Patching, Windows OS
Desktop / Laptop Image creation with Applications overlaid, Reporting, Inventory / Asset Management
Active Directory including OU design, Group Policy Preferences, Group Policy Objects, DHCP, DNS, WINS, Domain Controller Management and Roles Management as well as ADFS design and SSO
Citrix – XEN App published Desktop & Published application creation and management, Citrix Architecture Design and Implementation, Netscalers and Storefront servers
Desktop / Laptop security Tools e.g. Anti-virus, Anti-malware, heuristic AV products and also VPN technologies
Must have three (3+) years of experience supporting IT collaboration systems (hardware, software and administrative components) in a corporate network environment
College degree preferred; Experience may substitute for degree
Must be able to lift up to 35lbs (16kg) of equipment unassisted
