Duties & Responsibilities
Take responsibility for the reporting and data function within the valuation team. Key areas of responsibilities will include:
Ensuring the process is efficient and accurate, which includes ensuring the most appropriate software is used.
Automation of monthly actuarial reports and translating these into reports that are available on demand.
Continuous analysis and improvement of actuarial MI to increase understanding of policyholder behaviour.
Exploring how data can further be used to improve the various elements of the valuations process.
Take responsibility for ALM processes embedded within Invest. This includes monthly monitoring of the position and continuous improvement of the underlying processes.
Provide training and support to junior members within the team when required.
Liaise and coordinate with other areas within the company to:
Ensure ad-hoc work requested is in-line with required.
Changes in the business is appropriately incorporated into the data processes.
Present key output to senior management.
Pro-actively identify opportunities to use data in a more informative manner to drive the strategic focus of the team.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Matric
Completed degree in Actuarial Science and/or Mathematical Statistics
Fully qualified Actuary with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
Experience within retail financial services and customer behavioral impacts
Strong analytical capabilities
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook, as well as Prophet and DCS modelling
Strong communication skills
Exposure to other data software packages (e.g. SQL, R, AWS, etc.) would be advantageous
ALM Experience would be advantageous
