Programme Manager: Health Information Systems Strengthening
Our client, a reputable health care service provider is a seeking a Programme Manager to manage all aspects of the Health Information System Strengthening programme. This vacancy is a fixed-term contract with positions based in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape
Purpose of the position:
The Programme Manager: Health Information System Strengthening (HISS) manages all aspects of the Health Information System Strengthening programme, including strategic, operational, financial, and stakeholder management. The Programme Manager will work with the National Department of Health, Provincial Departments of Health, Centre for Disease Control (CDC) South Africa, consortium (Palladium), NHLS, CIDER, HISP, and other stakeholders, with an ultimate objective of developing and deploying technologies that promote interoperability between sub-systems and improves the monitoring of patients across systems and services. The Programme Manager will oversee and monitor activities such as software development, data warehousing and business intelligence. The Programme Manager will manage several technical experts and partners in achieving the objective of a networked and interoperable patient-level health information system.
Strategic and operational management
Human Resource Management
Master's Degree in Data Management, Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Information Sciences or other relevant degree
Minimum of 10 years' experience working managing programmes and projects within the health sector. 5 years should be related to health information and data management activities
Basic SQL and data modelling experience
Data analytics (SPSS, STATA, R, Python)
Experience with statistical modelling and statistical analysis as well as familiarity with epidemiological measures such as incidence, prevalence, odds, ratios
Experience in data visualisation and business intelligence (PowerBI, Tableau, other)
Experiencing in the software application development life-cycle (scoping, documenting specifications, development, deployment, monitoring)
Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and other public health software's preferably Stata, SPSS and Epi Info. ETR, TIER.net and DHIS knowledge is essential.
