Human and animal food/feed manufacturing company requires the skills of a Senior Manager Financial, with SAICA and 3 year post article financial Management experience to oversee the overall management of financial, administrative, internal controls and information systems, with the capability to frequent travel into African countries.
High middle management
AA Candidate preferred who can travel at short notice
Compliance and systems management:
Draw up, implement and adhere to policies and procedures.
Establish and implement an effective control environment.
Set up and maintain accounting and other systems.
Manage financial and administrative information.
Ensure accurate and efficient financial systems.
Comply with the applicable country’s laws and regulations.
An efficient and effective system, No audit findings with respects to non-compliance.
Ensure completeness of month end procedures and closure accordance to group deadlines.
Prepare and review journals on the system.
Close and balance the cashbook.
Accurate stock valuation and stock count.
Agree Inter-companies balances.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare and review VAT, payroll taxes, WHT etc.
Accurate and timely reporting, No unexplained long outstanding items on the balance sheet reconciliations, No audit findings, No intercompany differences.
Prepare and submit all results, packs and forecasts.
Tax-pack reviews and submission.
Ensure tax compliance with the applicable country laws and regulations as well as applicable accounting framework requirements.
Commentary on consolidated results.
Accurate and timely reporting, Good and effective communication and commentary, Compliance with laws and applicable accounting framework.
Budgets and cost management:
Compile and consolidate budgets.
Implement effective cost management.
Variance analysis and explanations.
Prepare reports as required by management.
Manage expenditure and approvals (As per DOA).
APEX applications / models as well as continuously monitoring of capital expenditure.
Accurate and timely budget preparation, Effective cost and procurement management.
Ensure that the payment cycle is adhered to.
Adhere to all payment terms.
Manage working capital.
Ensure effective procurement processes are followed as stipulated by the policies.
Manage cash flow and forecasts.
Good working capital position, Maintaining an effective cash position.
Leadership of employees:
Recruit and appoint competent employees within company EE policy.
Provide leadership in a motivational climate.
Manages subordinates' key performance areas by setting and monitoring performance standards and taking action to correct deviations to achieve the departmental objectives.
Provide procedural and fair disciplinary action to address deviations.
Provide staff administrative functions and succession planning.
Conform to company BBBEE status requirement, Qualified, competent and motivated staff, Fair and procedural hearings and outcomes, Excellent leadership.
Ad hoc / Communication:
Ensure efficient two way communication with Head Office and other stakeholders.
