Our client, through its Academy, offers individuals who qualify on merit and are prepared to sign a Code of Conduct, an opportunity to gain hands-on working experience in the field of their study. Students in the Academy will work under a mentor in the position for a period of one year with suitable remuneration.
Working within the business unit, the intern will make a valuable contribution to the company while acquiring working experience and putting their new-learned knowledge to effective use. At the end of the internship the Intern will have been exposed to the fruit industry, networked within the industry, used their knowledge and contributed to the business unit.
Our common goal is for the Intern to leave the Academy with sound work experience on their CV and be an attractive candidate for employment within the fruit industry.

Duration of internship in the Dole Academy
1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020 / or shorter if preferred by candidate (end December 2019)
Minimum knowledge & experience required to perform this job competently:
Education & Minimum Experience:
Grade 12 / Senior Certificate with at least 2 – 3 years’ accounting work experience / Tertiary qualification – preferably in the fruit and or agricultural industry.
Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):
KPA’s will include (but are not limited to) the following essential responsibilities:
First 6 months – to cover for maternity leave staff member
Approval and Processing of accounts payable according to company procedures • Weekly payment batches • Cross department liaison • Other ad-hoc financial tasks to assist
