Public Programmes Coordinator
My client has an open vacancy for a Public Programmes Coordinator who has 5+ years’ experience creating and implementing successful public programming for a variety of audiences. The successful candidate will be based in Braamfontein.
Qualification and Experience
Relevant post graduates’ tertiary qualification
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar or relevant environment
Postgraduate Degree in the arts, business, education, law, museum studies or relevant related field.
5+ years’ experience creating and implementing successful public programming for a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of a South African history, social justice activism in addition to strong understanding of the creative industries and experienced in community development.
Key Performance Areas:
To provide support by way of services and/or facilities to the ideas, projects, organizations and businesses within the creative and tourism sector, whether on a long-term or short-term basis, including events, skills training, capacity building and global opportunities.
Implement Public Programmes within the confines of the annual budget and in line with the strategy and plan above to ensure that sufficient money is available to meet strategic objectives.
Ensure all public programs are developed to meet needs of people with varied abilities, skills, and interests.
Liaise and work with the curatorial, education and marketing staff to research, develop and deliver a dynamic roster of projects, programmes and events that will interpret and supplement exhibitions, creative mandate and associated education content for adult and intergenerational audiences.
Identify relevant fundraising / sponsorship / funding activities for key Public Programmes.
Liaise with relevant third parties in this field to achieve mutual benefits, opportunities and sharing of expertise and experience to enhance HEPP programme standards and practices.
Help to produce programs in collaboration with academic institutions, arts and creative industry, and social justice organizations.
Draft and administer relevant documents for payments and ensure that they meet necessary procurement requirements and timelines so that good governance
Maintain and develop stakeholder relationships and develop community-focused creative programs;
Perform all functions of the department in a manner that enhances its image as a museum, heritage site and creative hub.
