Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure that the site complies with legal regulations under SA law and company’s standards.
Responsible for site HSES & Quality performance and reporting.
Responsible for site production planning, O.E.E and O.T.I.F. performance
Responsible for operations Variable cost efficiencies
Responsible for site operational & capital budget control.
Formulate and implement initiatives to reduce costs & wastage.
Monitor individual and team performance against set targets / objectives
Staff management/ Disciplinary, grievances, training needs etc
Weekly review that SAP production orders and material requirements are maintained
Performance appraisals of staff
Desired Experience & Qualification
Degree in Chemical Engineering (min: 7 years experience in chemical industry) or
BTech in Chemical Engineering with 10 years operation management experience
Successful production management experience
Able to work hands on, and independently at times, with a diverse job function
Experience in introducing process improvements, having the capability to coach others .
Good communication, report writing and computer skills
Furnace refractory knowledge / experience an advantage.
Strong Management/Leadership skills
Unionised experience an advantage
ISO9001 Knowledge/experience
Prepared to work shifts when required
A code 8 or higher driver’s licence
