To maintain the financial accounting ledgers within our accounting package, ensure timely submission of financial and fiscal reports, provide assistance to the Finance Manager as well as the rest of the finance team and to provide technical and professional assistance to all areas of the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
Full responsibility of fixed assets this includes; maintaining fixed asset registers, preparing monthly depreciation journals, labelling all new assets bought, half and year end inspection, disposal of fixed assets and monthly recons on fixed assets.
Preparing, compiling and submission of the monthly, quarterly and year end reports due to our Head Office (in the UK), this also includes responsibility during the annual budget process. (Reports that this role is responsible for Cash Report, Management Accounts, Sales Analysis, Capex and Statutory Accounts.)
Experience in doing the SARS IT14SD Recons (Vat Output, Input, PAYE, Customs Imports & Exports)
Prepare, compile and submit yearly budget.
General Ledger Reconciliations.
Prepare & manage year end stock take (in the month of November) for 3 warehouses
Preparation and assistance for yearly audits for both internal and external.
Be the right-hand person to the Finance Manager
Processing and reconciling staff expense claim forms both locally and foreign.
Managing the forex for staff members overseas trips, cash and cards returned.
Needs to provide assistance and stand in for other staff members within the Finance Department while on leave or absent.
Manage and control the month end process.
Doing costing runs within our SAP system, to ensure we can deliver stock to our customers.
Review and approval of costings when stock arrives.
Managing internal controls, to be compliant with our internal audit.
Exchange rate revaluations, review and provide comments on the reasons why gains or losses were made for the month.
Must be prepared to work additional hours over the month, quarter, year end and budget period.
VAT monthly calculation, preparation and submission to SARS as well as dealing with any audit requests from SARS.
PAYE monthly submission to SARS.
Monthly reports on departmental expenses (actual vs budget vs last year with comments) sent to the various heads of departments.
Weekly sales forecasts sent to the UK.
Coordinating company secretarial work with our service provider.
The preparation and submission of Capex proposals to the UK.
Will need to have an understanding of the African market.
Provisional income tax calculations.
Intermediate/Advanced level in MS Outlook, Word and Excel
Accounting Package: SAP
Pass Matric, B Com Accounting degree (this is a must) and articles (optional) not B Com Financial Management.
