Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure infrastructure services are maintained and operational to service standards specified. services include: electrical ( HV, MV& LV ), plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC, fire detection, fire protection, general building maintenance, ups, standby power generation, refrigeration and all issues pertaining to compliance, governance and the statutory acts legislated.
Maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules in accordance to the SLA for all equipment and services
The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for ensuring that all Plant, Equipment and Engineering Infra-structure is properly operated and maintained.
Provide a detailed and planned maintenance programme
Proactively manage the maintenance process and identify potential equipment / asset failure or problems
Introduce Conditioning monitoring techniques which may include includes vibration monitoring; temperature analysis of HVAC systems, distribution boards and electrical installations.
Investigate plant or equipment failure to establish root cause and recommend corrective actions.
Initiate corrective action where omissions or failures occur
Manage the planned preventative maintenance process and ensure that all work is carried out as per the planned maintenance plan;
Provide Specialist Technical knowledge and expertise to Facilities and Project Managers including supervision where necessary of works executed.
Engage with suppliers regarding quality of maintenance.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations .e.g. .Spill procedure, disposal of hazardous chemical,
Assist in the compilation of the 10 year Life cycle asset replacement programme.
Evaluate and approve quotations as requested
Manage staff performance within the company guidelines and requirements of the LRA
Ensure appropriate training needs of staff are identified and committed to a training programme.
Desired Experience & Qualification
B-Tech (Engineering) / BSc Engineering): Mechanical/Electrical or related formal technical qualification
Valid SA Driver’s License
5 years relevant engineering experience in facilities maintenance
