Job Description:
An international company within the Retail / FMCG sector is looking for an experienced Fresh Produce Buyer for their branch in Port Elizabeth
Duties & Responsibilities
Growing programmes: planning / implementation thereof
Product purchase prices
Sales and gross profit for own buying category
Maintaining shortage on order / product wastage within acceptable levels
Product management, including quality
Food safety systems and procedures
Regular farm and market visits
Packaging stock levels
Promotions
Acquiring accurate / relevant management information
Assisting with general management duties
Adhering to company Policy on buying and trading procedures

Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 + a relevant tertiary qualification
A thorough knowledge of Fruit and Vegetables is essential.
Previous trading experience is a requirement
