A spectacular opportunity lies with one of our clients who is looking to hire a Facilities Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the company's premises by planning, executing and monitoring all aspects related to facilities management, to develop and maintain policies, standards as well as operating procedures in support of the various facets of facilities management and EOHS, ensuring procedures and processes are formally documented, communicated and adhered to.
Duties & Responsibilities
General upkeep and maintenance of buildings to ensure that they meet health and safety standards.
Manage Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety requirements to keep all properties in compliance with the company’s and Statutory Policies and Guidelines.
Management of the cleaning, waste disposal, catering, security and parking of each site. Work with Procurement and the Finance departments to manage the budgets for these services and keep records of all payments.
Keep leases up to date and assist Procurement with lease negotiations / renewals.
Ensure that the services offered by the landlord are fully aligned with various lease conditions.
Ensure the management of facilities preventative and predictive maintenance programs, including scope of works, specifications, SLAs, vendor management and quality assessments.
Implement Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety as well as recycling programmes.
Provide leadership to the Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
Ensure systems are in place to provide required training for all areas of responsibility.
Implement an asset management plan or system to track and manage fixed assets and ensure that the fixed assets are appropriately updated.
Assess the residual values and remaining useful lives of the fixed assets.
Ensure all the assets of the company are adequately insured.
Record management and business continuity.
Communicate any compliance issues, develop and ensure implementation of correction action plans.
Assess risks, develop and implement mitigation actions.
Analyse monthly budget performance comparing projections vs actuals and adjust forecasts accordingly.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for local and global management as well as global Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
The incumbent will look after facilities nationally (JHB, Cape Town, Durban, Bloem and PE)
Desired Experience & Qualification
A National Diploma / Degree in Facilities Management, Office Management
Financial Management background is advantageous
Relevant experience in Facilities Management
A valid driver’s license
