A big hotel group, with footprints all around Africa, is looking for a Legal Secretary / Paralegal to assist their Group Company Secretary. The position is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
Duties & Responsibilities
Although the role is highly administrative in nature, there is also a lot of functions that you will have to do that are specialised and will require initiative. The core strengths required include attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and to deadlines and of course being able to take initiative.
Scope of work includes: Compliance, Governance and Company Secretarial Admin, CIPC - Annual returns submission and Director changes, AGM – admin, Share Scheme Administration, Contract safe custody process – including filing | removal | saving, Contract register – including Land and Building register and safekeeping of title deeds and leases, Management of claims process – registration | follow up | reports | settlement | closure or matters/claims, Intellectual Property - IP register maintenance, Renewals and applications, Statutory audit, Generally attend to all administrative and secretarial work associated with the function.
Desired Experience & Qualification
This role will work for someone who comes from one of the large law firms, or from a legal department of a corporate company. It also requires someone who is an all-rounder, and one who understands how to add value to whom they are supporting. You must have matric and at least 5 years' as a legal secretary or paralegal.
