Client in the HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY requires the services of a Hotel Receptionist in Johannesburg as soon as possible

The main purpose of the Receptionist is, to assist in achieving an efficient and courteous Front Office experience and to ensure that all guests receive prompt, cordial and efficient attention and consistently high standard of service throughout their stay, whilst ensuring adherence to the hotel’s policies and procedures.
Ensure that all arrivals rooms are allocated the night prior to arrival, taking into account special requirements/requests.
Ensure that all guest receive a professional and courteous Front Office experience
Adhere strictly to check-in procedures and ensure the correct guest data is obtained
Ensure that method of payment is obtained for each guest in accordance with the credit policy
Ensure that all guest data is updated on the PMS system and all correspondence relating to the reservations is attached to guest registration card.
Capture daily departmental charges on guest folios and verify against pre-lists
Balance and verify Cash-ups on PMS daily and report any discrepancies to RDM. All cash ups must be signed off by MOD or RDM and must be logged on cash drop sheet.
Complete daily Pit checks and ensure all charges are verifies / reconciled on guest account
Reconcile Direct Bills daily and attach all dockets and correspondence pertaining to reservation on the guest folio before checking out to debtors
Balance daily shift closure and complete all necessary cashier reports and ensure sign-off by RDM.
Complete daily Float checks and report and account for any/all overages or shortages and sign float check list and file in folder
Complete daily handover / checklists by use of handover book or Whatsapp group.
Complete general administrative duties of the Front Office department and keep up to date at all times.
Ensure that any VIP, Early Arrivals and Room moves are communicated to all relevant departments.
The Receptionist should be fully familiar with facilities and services offered by the hotel, including applicable rates and rate policies.
Daily reporting of any maintenance issues to be communicated to EHK.
Responsible to maintain company standards in switchboard operation, which includes taking and delivering messages and reservations.
The employee will be required to be familiar with the hotel policy on fire, hygiene, health & safety and emergency procedures and fire-drills
All FO reservations to be done in PMS and follow up on payments to be done within 48hrs of confirmation send.
To familiarise yourself with all SOP’s and adhere to it at all times.
Job Specific Requirements:
Proficient in English Language – Verbal and Written Communication
Knowledge of hotel Front Office procedures
Starlight PMS (Essential)
Computer Literate – Microsoft Office (Essential)
