Job Description:
A reputable organization with a pan-african footprint is currently looking for a System Engineer to join their team ASAP! They specialize in managing and amalgamating financial and technological expectations regarding payment solutions. This position is based in JHB, with a highly flexible remote environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas: (Specific Description of the job)
Perform system fault finding and suggest corrective actions
Maintain existing network and server environments
Do proposals for improvements, regulatory requirements & implement approved changes
Track the company’s PCI-DSS initiative’s progress. Interface with PCI-DSS QSA regarding outstanding requirements and remediation thereof
Facilitate the integration of new partners who link to company’s systems via web services
Be available for after-hours standby for one week every three weeks. Standby will be required which happens on a rotation basis with the team and not negotiable
Liaise with 3rd parties on networking / hosting / equipment service providers
Liaise with the company’s clients’ technical teams on in-depth technical level
Day to day office staff support with Desktop issues
Maintain technical relationships with Clients
Maintain technical relationships with Suppliers
Desired Experience & Qualification
Technical / Special Requirements (PC Skills / Product Knowledge / Specific Competencies)
MCSA/MCITP certified is a must
MS SQL Experience – VERY IMPORTANT
Must be able to do Technical discussions with multiple service providers
Microsoft Servers installation, maintenance and securing of Servers
Microsoft Desktops installation, maintenance and securing of Desktops
Knowledge of basic Microsoft Services, AD Permissions, etc
Dealing with external suppliers
Excellent fault-finding skills on custom company written system
Experience with Microsoft Servers & AD
Knowledge and possible working experience with Virtualization Products
Experience in the following areas would be exceptionally beneficial to an applicant:
Prior knowledge of PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)
Managing the IT Security Compliancy of the company
Interbank payments, debit orders, etc.
Basic knowledge of Visual Studio 2008 or code development
Disaster Recovery environments
Working with SOAP and API’s
Working experience with Microsoft SQL, select statements and updates
