Job Description:
One of SA’s Largest Underwriting Companies seeks a driven Senior Claims Administrator to join their growing team
Duties & Responsibilities
Main job function
Contribute to the organisational goals by processing (from registration through to settlement) and validating insured’s (& Third parties’)
Duties would include but not be limited too:
o Actively manage and oversee start to end of claims function.
o Contribute to the growth and profitability of the Company by providing excellent service
and maintaining relationships.
o Ensure complete and sound claim settlements, legal reviews and investigations in
accordance with company policies and procedures.
o Controlling of registers, compliance with SLA’s, diary management, quantum, recoveries,
salvage and secure proper claims maintenance.
o Assessment of claims.
o Ensure all technical aspects for claims settlement are adhered to.
o Negotiate settlement of the claims with all relevant stakeholders.
o Daily diary files to be extracted and dealt with e.g. letters of demand, final notices
reminders and follow up assessors’ reports.
o Monitor and periodically review estimates.
o Compile and provide feedback on claim reports to management team.
o Appointment of investigators, assessors, loss adjusters and other experts if necessary
o Negotiate discounts to reduce costs with repairers, service providers and partners, without
compromising quality or harming client retention initiatives
o Attend to Third party claims
o Signing off of third-party releases.
o Relationship Management
o Work with different people internally and externally to improve service, efficiency, and
improve presentation of information.
o Actively build, improve and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, i.e. internally and
externally. Meet with brokers, service providers, partners and other divisions to ensure
challenges they may face are addressed.
o Liaising in a professional manner with brokers and other insurers in respect of claims
aspects:
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
Matric/LLB/FAIS (minimum requirements)
Experience/Criteria
Clear criminal record
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in claims administration
Bilingual (English and Afrikaans)
Computer literacy - MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Reliable transport
Previous experience on System A (TIAL) would be an advantage
Liaise and build relationships with clients
Quality control
Team player
Work independently/take ownership
Sound knowledge of claims principles in industry including Claims management
