Job Description:
a Transport Company in Pretoria is looking for a suitable person to employ in the capacity of Operations Manager (Transport).
The suitable person will have a Qualification in Logistics Management with 8 - 10 years experience in the Logistics field.
Duties & Responsibilities
People Management and Employee Relations:
Coordinate and manage subordinates
Facilitate interdepartmental communication
Allocate tasks and resources as needed
Ensure compliance to and implementation of company procedures and policies as well as legislative requirements pertaining to employees in the department
Manage the process of keeping attendance records of all operations employees
Communicate with operations staff on a regular basis with regards to requirements
Coordinate and apply discipline in the department where needed
Prepare and partake in disciplinary procedures in whatever capacity is required for the specific situation
Represent the Company where needed at relevant bodies during conciliations
Performance Management and Personal Development
Manage the process of analysing driver information and preparation of provision reports
Prepare for and conduct bi-annual personal development reviews with subordinates
Identify training needs
Administration and Control
Manage day to day operations of shipments
Manage and control shipments
Prepare quotes for customers where needed
Manage queries with Suppliers
Manage insurance matters
Manage vehicle and driver licenses
Manage roadworthy processes of trucks
Manage diesel processes
Prepare preliminary and final invoices for Suppliers
Cost control and strategic management
Conduct continual analysis and evaluation of strategic information
Provide meaningful reporting to senior management in a timely and effective manner
Source new business
Client relations
Health and Safety

Package & Remuneration
R45k plus commission per month.
