Supply Project Specialist
Our client in the mining sector is looking for a Supply Project Specialist provide and support, leadership guidance and expertise to ensure all approved supply chain projects are successful.
Minimum Education & Experience
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or Minimum 10 years in international supply chain roles
Minimum 5 years in supply management positions
Knowledge and Experience
Experience in a mining environment is essential
Experience in OEM parts management/interpretation desirable
Experience in ERP implementation Projects
Experience operating in remote mine sites
Computer Literacy (MS Office – Advanced Skills, In wards and excel)
Experience in Microsoft Navision Dynamic software
Report writing skills
Demonstrated skills in planning, analysis and Problem solving
Exceptional ERP systems and knowledge
P2P Process knowledge
Business development and operation Acumen
Provide the leadership necessary to ensure that supply staff adheres to safety and environmental standards that meet external stakeholders Industry Standards
Participate in daily meeting about safety before shift begins
Adhere to supply policies, processes and procedures at all times.
Lead formal supply and logistics process improvement projects
Manage supply and logistics performance improvement projects from inception through delivery ensuring completion of the project objectives on schedule
Responsible for identifying and analyzing business opportunities, developing recommendations using high level quantitative and qualitative analytical skill and communicating findings to senior management
Be accountable for supply project deliverables, develop and deliver recommendations to management, create and meet all project milestones and financial commitments
Develop project schedules, deliverable and detailed timelines, as well as identify and manage project priorities.
Identify, document and implement best practices as part of the ongoing improvement process
Ensure completion of appropriate project documentation and alignment with supply strategy
Exercise independent judgment and initiative to identify and resolve complex project and resource management issues.
Collaborate with IT and other functional areas to develop, define and document technical systems, operational requirements and critical success criteria for projects
Assist to develop, install and audit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory company requirements relating to supply and logistics operations
Continually explore and identify opportunities to improve ERP system processes
Develop or enhance supply chain metrics, KPIs and dashboards
Facilitate and lead collaborative initiatives with external stakeholders in Eritrea as directed company company BOD and Government bodies
Identify and report sustainable local manufacturing/ and or Business opportunity
Work with and support existing local suppliers to development their performance and business opportunity.
Fully engage national supply chain staff in project development and implementation ensuring effective knowledge and skills transfer.
Facilitate and supply the logistics strategic planning process
Engage key stakeholders, define and coordinate activities, communicate changes and progress, build commitment and overcome resistance.
Facilitate monthly meetings with key and users to establish cohesive plans and reconcile and communicate progress to plan.
Assist to develop, install and audit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory company requirement relating to supply and logistic operations
In conjunction with maintenance department, assist in the development and implementation of rolling planned maintenance materials demand.
Development planned parts coordination for PCR and Shutdown requirements
Supply Chain Operational Management
Support the supply manager by assuming other additional management responsibilities as required
Provide leadership to the supply department to ensure the development of a working environment that is conducive to the achievement of KPIs and that employees achieve their full potential
Continually review every aspect of the areas activity to ensure that opportunities to add value are identified and implemented
Work with the supply manager to conduct regular review of the departments risk register and ensure that corrective actions identified are being implemented
Utilize effective analytical and communication skills to resolve critical or escalated issues affecting end users, department staff or senior management
Continually identify opportunities and process improvements to improve working capital management and reductions
