My client in the engineering industry is looking for a Product Manager (cylinders) to join their team in Alrode.
APPLICANTS IN THE AREA WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENCE.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the overall production from the 5 facilities (DA Plant, SG Production, CMTS Alrode, Nitrous Oxide, QC Labs) meets the demand, quality and safety requirements.
KPI's include Number of cylinders, Stock control, Nb Eqcyl / FTE / day, Peer position, Cost control / PG bulk losses, Transport efficiency, IMS Mastering, LTA, NLTA, PSSI, IM preventative maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible to ensure that productivity in all these facilities is measured and improved
Analyse production demand, inventory and manufacturing deadlines and costs to set up relevant products filling planning.
Responsible for managing costs within various facilities in line with annual budgets
Ensure raw material control, availability, losses and usage at various facilities
Plans organisation of the daily production resources, ensure each employee qualification and authorisation to perform assigned tasks.
Ensure reliability of production facilities within your control, manage up-time, raw material control etc.
Make sure the filled products meet required level of quality
Plan and advise analytical resources (instrumentation and other personnel if needed)
Check production and quality indicators, ensure statistical process control
Review individual operation performance and motivate each for improved productivity
Ensure that preventive maintenance is conducted and adhered to by all plants under your control
Ensure the periodical update of analytical methods and instrumentation to reach best and reliable results with a minimum of resources
Review each job's responsibilities of the plant and identify and/or check required qualifications and competencies to perform the job in accordance with country regulation and group procedures
Ensure that training and qualification programme are implemented and that quality procedures are followed by all the staff of the plant.
Participate in industrial audits of the facility and present requested documents to auditors
Ensure that all audit corrective actions implemented are effective and within the stipulated time frame.
Analyse results of audits and plan corrective actions to emphasize continuous quality improvement
Implement preventive & corrective measures to improve safety and further to customer claims
Promote safety objectives in line with yearly HSE plan as a first priority
Ensure safe handling, storage and filling of cylinders
Ensure that EIS are fully operational and maintained
Ensure that all facilities under your control comply to the local regulatory requirements i.e. permits to operate, accreditations,
Ensure that the facilities under your control follow and comply with the company Mastering Process
identifies areas of improvement for each of the operations in collaboration with each facility manager concerned
BSc/BTech Eng (Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical)
6 to 10 years line management experience in industrial activities
Strong team management or supervisory experience
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act of RSA
Knowledge of Pressure Equipment Regulations
Knowledge of the Labour Relations Act
Managing unionised operations of Safety & Quality
Intimate knowledge of the cylinders filling process and safe working practices (SWP, MOC, JHA etc.).
Quality & safety procedures & regulation
Plant Emergency solutions. Crisis management
ERP, tracking system
Computerized systems and environments
Analyze trends accurately, problems and cause-effect relationship
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication skills
