INTERNAL SALESMAN (INDUSTRIAL AND AUTOMOTIVE PARTS)
Our Client based on the East Rand are looking for an Internal Salesman with 5 -10 years experience in selling industrial and automotive parts, with a high level of computer literacy in MS Word and MS Excel. You will be working in well appointed offices in a friendly, professional environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying and selling parts profitably, ensuring adherence to Company policies and business procedures, responding proactively to the requests of Customers and the Parts Manager and work effectively as a member of the Team. The overall objective is the maximation of parts sales and achieving set sales targets.
This position is key to key to delivering the company's parts sales, after sales service, Customer satisfaction and achieving the profitability objectives. The position demands excellent communication and organisational skills in order to interact professionally with Customers both telephonically and face to face. You will be expected to source a solution, so a technical background is essential and you will need a positive attitude, be able to work effectively with colleagues and get the job done right the first time.
Duties & Responsibilities
Liaise with Customers regarding their requirement of spare parts of products that were supplied by the Company. This is done mainly telephonically but on occasion on a face-to-face basis.
Correctly receive and fill the orders placed for spare parts. This includes reference to information sources such as product catalogues, the Internet, or the Company databases to accurately determine the replacement part stock numbers and prices.
Establish the correctness of the replacement parts required, by inspecting the old parts, discussing with the Customer their requests, or analysing the Customers' descriptions of the malfunctions being experienced.
Expertly advise the Customers on any available substitution or modification of available parts in stock in those instances where the required replacement parts are not available in the Warehouse inventory.
Accurately capture and fulfil the Customers’ orders from stock by preparing and processing the required documents in accordance with the Company administration processes and standards.
When required, discuss the purpose, use and features of the various spare parts with Customers, utilising knowledge of the Company products (in particular machines in general).
Actively sell parts by influencing others, successfully convincing Customers to buy spare parts.
Establishing and maintaining sound interpersonal relationships with the Client base by building constructive and co-operative working relationships over time.
Liaison with the various internal Company Departments such as the Warehouse and Workshop Departments in order to efficiently execute the placed orders.
Dealing with queries from Customers regarding placed orders by tracking and following up on the progress of such orders.
Thorough knowledge of the Company’s product ranges, the business policies and procedures as well as the Customer service standards and philosophy.
Knowledge of basic business principles, such as costs, turnover, profitability etc.
Knowledge of the relevant computerised information systems used within the Company.
Analytical thinking by being able to identify issues, obtain the relevant information, compare data from different sources, and identify suitable solutions.
Able to develop and use collaborative relationships to achieve the work goals.
Customer Service by being able to develop and maintain strong relationships with Customers, listening to and understanding the Customers and by responding to their needs.
Excellent oral communication by having the ability to convey information orally to others in a manner which ensures that they understand. It also includes the ability to listen and respond appropriately to others.
The ability to observe, monitor, collect, and record data. This includes the ability to assess the accuracy, validity and integrity of the data.
Ability to accomplish tasks and processes accurately and completely.
Ability to deal with others in difficult and complex situations to achieve resolution.
Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills and methods to reduce tension and resolve conflict.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Relevant automotive/technical qualification
MS Office suite of software programmes, specifically MS Word and MS Excel
5 - 10 years experience as a Parts Internal Salesman
