National Channel Manager - Foodservice
Our client is a Multi National FMCG frozen foods company.
Responsible for achieving annual sales targets within area of assigned markets or accounts, focusing on solid direction and management of agents throughout assigned markets, within the company’s strategic plan.
Develop and deliver annual sales plans for each assigned key account in accordance with division sales objectives.
Proactively direct and manage Distributors, Agents and support Regional Managers ensuring that there is a process to measure results.
Effectively manage direct reporting Sales Associates to ensure delivery of expectations whilst practicing the GLD’
Communicate compliance expectations with division sales policy, procedure and process to ensure that all Products Corporation associate in this channel understand policies and procedures to support customer satisfaction.
Prioritize targeting efforts with the Foodservice channel focusing on execution and priority product placements.
Ensure effective utilization and execution of marketing program to ensure selling success of new or existing products.
Ensure delivery of a detailed and comprehensive annual marketing campaign by Foodservice customer
Ensure regular contact and working sessions with all distributor Marketing Managers to align strategy and growth plans
Monthly meeting with marketing team ensuring marketing strategy and plan implementation
Establish / reinforce relationship building practices with key accounts in the channel and Regional Sales Managers by ensuring that new products are listed, new products are introduced, marketing and promotional programs are put in place, pricing is updated and correct service levels are optimized, stock rotation is applied and compliant process is handled timeously, that accounts are paid timeously, training programs are in place, continuously and actively investigating new opportunities with regard to product and marketing.
Ensuring that all communication with customers (contact reports) is applied and up to date.
If sales targets are not met, ensure that alternative plans are formulated so as to make up any short falls.
Work within a budget.
Responsible for and champion any trade shows that are directly related to the Distribution Channel.
Ensure that service levels to this channel are within company expectations and that any shortfalls are respected (e.g. Out of stock, errors in order taking, incorrect invoicing).
Communicate with Buyers of the Distributors on a weekly basis focusing on sales, out of stocks, customers not purchasing etc.
Update monthly distribution report using print out received from the distributors.
Hold weekly feedback sessions with the Sales Managers of the Distributors at the different locations.
Regular reports to the New Business Development Manager detailing sales to national key customer chains.
Manage relevant Sales Staff, Telesales and Branch Managers at the Distributors noting special days.
Ensure that the system reflects correct product details i.e. description, price, complete range etc.
Ensure that the system reflects correct product details i.e. description, price, complete range etc.
Prepare monthly contact reports on customers visited.
Food service experience essential.
Experience dealing with food service distributors preferably frozen foods.
Food service related qualification at the senior level is required
(Degree or Diploma).
Experience dealing with distributors of food service products.
Financial orientated i.e. ability to analyze sales reports.
Strong Sales, admin and staff management skills.
