Assistant Financial Manager
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, managing and executing the financial goals of the property. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timeous recording of all required financial obligations in accordance with policies and procedures.
Assist in managing the finance department – working very closely with line staff.
Preparation and assistance for Internal and External Audits.
Manage and process collections: Approve Write-off within threshold limit.
Payment: Approve Invoices for Payment based on approval thresholds,
Reconcile front office/POS credit cards
Making necessary adjustments to GL accounts
Present completed trial balance to FM with notes
Analysis of fixed assets depreciation, write off of OE
Processing deferred tax journals monthly
Unallocated Deposits & Refunds Control
Debtors & O Status Review
Performing recons and checklist as part of Balance Sheet reconciliation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS COMPETENCIES
A recognised appropriate financial qualification plus 4 - 5 years’ experience in a similar working environment - (hospitality)
Working knowledge of PMS (Opera/APEX experience would be advantageous).
Sage Pastel accounting package or similar experience a definite requirement.
Proficiency in Microsoft packages essential (Word, Excel, email) essential.
Strong planning and organizing skills to meet deadlines with regards to operational requirements essential.
Strong analytical skills and ability

Positive attitude, self-disciplined and a motivated TEAM player
Must be able to work and perform well under pressure.
