Sales Analyst (FMCG) Stellenbosch
Applications are invited for the above mentioned position based at the Sales Centre of Excellence Southern Africa, Head Office Techno Park, Stellenbosch. The successful incumbent will report to the Sales Intelligence Manager.
Purpose Statement of Position Support Sales Centre of Excellence teams through the development, implementation, analysis and insight into available data sources to drive improved performance.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Assess all new functional data requests to ensure it carries business unit approval and prioritisation. Work closely with ICT on new business requests to ensure alignment. Monthly attendance of ICT/Function meeting to ensure alignment across functions. Guide functional users to understand their data, gain insight from their data, and make data driven decisions Setup functional specific models from pre-approved datasets Data preparation of external data for use in explorative analytics (cleaning, structuring and enriching raw data from diverse sources)
First point of call to assist BI users with functional specific (non-enterprise) issues on BI models. Conversion of function data into insight through deep analysis and interpretation of relevant data sources. Facilitate, guide, educate business users to gain insight from their data Support functional teams with accurate reporting. Regional models to be adopted as group models where wider application is possible or across regions. Comply with ICT BI Governance – e.g. Procedure for BI Reports, Analytical models and Dashboards (which need to be revised to cater for Self-service BI use cases)
Design and develop automated reporting processes. Ensure timeous delivery of predefined reports Ensure accuracy, consistency and data integrity across multiple reporting systems. Utilize information to analyse performance and highlight trends for corrective action. Provide analytical input to guide and influence strategic decisions. Prepare exception reports for management reporting. Tracking of performance against predefined targets Assist in management of sales incentive models and training. Preparation of group account business review decks and automation
The successful candidate must preferably have the following experience/skills:
Qualification in maths, statistics, computer science, or a comparable qualification Strong acumen for technology and BI tools Passionate about data analysis, data discovery, and storytelling Experienced in visualisation, whether in Excel, Powerpoint or a BI tool Basic statistical and math skills to estimate numerical data Critical thinking and analytical skills: Evaluate large amounts of numbers, trends and data and come to conclusions based on the findings.
