Coordinator-Strategy Development – Pretoria – R1 250 800pa
Strategy Development is a high-level professional leadership position which assists in strategic planning, development of corporate, division and sub-sector strategy and reviewing of strategy. The successful incumbent will be responsible for collaborating with and providing consultation to senior management regarding solutions for mission-critical projects and organisational structure changes, continually refining strategy in response to internal and external variables. The incumbent will act as a conduit between the business’ divisions and senior management to determine needs of the business when developing corporate level strategy.
Development of Strategy:
Lead and consulting services in the development of strategies, policies and processes across all functions that will help to achieve the company’s mission and objectives.
Development and modification of client strategy.
Assist business leaders and managers in driving and optimizing improvement of key value levers that will give the business a sustainable competitive advantage
Review of Strategy:
Conduct strategy planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Conduct engagements with business leaders to ensure that business strategies are aligned with corporate strategy.
Consider external and internal threats and opportunities and manage initiatives that will transform client from its current state to its targeted next state.
Conduct business analysis and provide guidance to the other functions within the organisation.
Develop new methods to propagate business insights throughout the organisation.
Strengthen and analyse strategy outcomes in collaboration with the leadership team to ensure relevance and value creation.
Policy – Strategy Alignment:
Conduct environmental scanning to ensure prevailing national policies impacting operations are considered when developing strategy and internal policies.
Ongoing consultation with external and internal stakeholders to integrate sub-sector objectives to corporate strategy.
Government- Company Strategy Alignment:
Develop close working relationships with other key functions within the organisation to keep them aware of and seek their views on proposed organisational changes to ensure coordination.
Maintain an awareness of any possible threats to the business and develop policies and processes that will deliver contingencies and mitigate risk.
Collaborating to ensure quality strategic planning and management services are provided to deliver on government’s objectives.
Ensure that government’s priorities are well understood and disseminated clearly to the organisation and its partners for improved decision making and efficiency.
Development of Sub-Sector Strategies:
Develop working relationships with all business units to keep them aware of and consult on proposed organisational changes to ensure that there is a coordinated approach to these.
Maintain an awareness of any possible threats to the business and develop solutions in the form of policies, risk mitigation interventions etc.
Consolidate sub-sector strategic aims into an overall approach and ensure effective consultation.
Strategy planning, development, review, and evaluation
Strategy impact assessment
Knowledge of strategy alignment with prevailing government policy framework
Impeccable strategy, report, policy writing skills
Ability to tailor communication to multiple types of audiences; a concise, compelling writer
Subsector strategy development, review, and modification
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent planning and organizing skills
Experience in diverse stakeholder engagement and management
Impressive record of strategy development and execution, and impact assessments
Demonstrate team and project management skills
Experience in liaising with Executives and departmental Heads
Ability to lead in the development of strategies, policies and processes across all functions that will help to achieve the company’s mission and core objectives
Experience in developing and monitoring budgets for all major organisation development projects
A well-rounded business acumen
Strong analytical background, including comfort with strategy development tools.
An established track record in the field of strategy development.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Economics, or Finance or related.
7 years related experience in the Transport, Construction, or Engineering industry.
Knowledge and experience in strategy development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Commerce or relevant (NQF level 7) qualification in Strategy or related (advantageous)
