Duties & Responsibilities
Implement process improvements in cost accounting
Establishes and maintains cost accounting procedures for SA plant
Ensure that financial controls are in place across the plant, which are in accordance to group policy and actively adhered to. This includes, but are not limited to, accounting cut-off procedures.
Ensure that area of responsibility complies with FRM, and the companies Controlling Manuals
Performs monthly cost closing activities, additional quarterly and year-end schedules as assigned.
Performs process for setting standard costs, including analysis of raw materials costs and labour and overhead rates
Update standard cost as requested by Corporate.
Compile summary analysis for the impact of the annual standard cost change
Prepares and reviews product cost estimates as requested on new products and product changes.
Assist, as required, with product costing projects by providing analysis on product pricing breakdowns.
Provide support to the commercial and pricing teams on product cost information
Production management information and account for factory activities
Monthly material variance summary and analysis
Monthly soft close forecast for material variance estimates and provide summary analysis
Forecast material variance for AOP
Provide financial support to the production teams, Financial Controller and Management team.
Prepare annual budget and monitor / measure subsequent performance on all factory expense accounts.
Prepare accurate monthly management accounts including expenses and labour costs.
Release daily purchase requisitions and approve OnBase invoices for plant.
Compile monthly reporting packs to production team, local management and Corporate.
Participate and oversee physical inventories (RM, WIP and Engineering stores) and subsequent analysis, monthly and yearly as required.
E&O monthly calculation for Raw Material Inventory
Complete eCRs applications for investment spending
Report on capital expenditure spend vs approved budget
Support and manage fixed asset inventory count over 3-year cycle count
Complete audit schedules for internal and external auditors, quarterly and yearly
Coordinate and oversee APDP (Automotive Production Development Program) duty drawback claim procedures, by compiling and submitting information to SASFIN. Oversee subsequent audit performed by external auditors on this process.
Report HC figures and Hours Worked provided by HR into FIRE
Liaise with HR with regards to employee cost centres to ensure accurate split between variable and fixed costing
Compile Hours worked report for Plant Manager
Submit MBR in SharePoint
Assist with cost savings calculations
Update cost savings into SPIRIT
Update NQC reporting tool
Repair and submit plant KPI's in SharePoint
Desired Experience & Qualification
B.Comm Accounting with articles
5 Years’ experience in Costing environment
At least 2 cost saving projects
Worked as factory accounting Manager for at least 2-years’
Must be able to work with diverse cultures
