Negotiate buying packages with suppliers
Negotiate cost price and deals with suppliers
Arrange new store opening deals with suppliers
Arrange opening of new suppliers
Liaise with suppliers regarding supplier problems.
Source new products and suppliers.
Negotiate regional promotions with suppliers
Participate in promotional advert design
Approve promotional order quantities and pricing
Ensure local promotional adverts arranged with Marketing Dept.
Involve MD and OM’s when deciding on products to be advertised and layout
Attend to and solve merchandise related problems
Monitor and control merchandisers
Check merchandising, ordering, pricing and stock on hand during store visits
Train staff on merchandising aspects of the business
Arrange , co-ordinate mock up process and ensure effective implementation
Develop action plans to improve sales in stores.
Manage gross profit on suppliers. Input and promo gross.
Ensure adherence to cost and below cost items.
Collect adhoc income for company.
Perform price checks on promotional schedule. Back office versus sales floor
Recommend ranges in specific stores based on cliental.
Analyses sales figures and identify stores with sales problems.
Conduct price comparisons in the market.
Visit opposition stores to find new lines or opportunities
National Diploma in Retail Management / Procurement
Licensed to drive.
Experienced in working in a multicultural environment.
Ability to foster team oriented goal.
Able to travel for work.
Knowledge of new products and of product quality and standard development procedures is (Desirable)
Knowledge of margin calculations and of buying business processes
Knowledge of consumer protection act and product legislation
Ability to analyse and interpret data
