CHEMICAL / MANUFACTURING SECTOR
Leading manufacturer of raw food materials is seeking to employ an External Account Manager to promote and sell their products and services to clients in the food manufacturing industry.
The role of the EAM is to service existing clients and source new sales opportunities through lead follow up and referrals. The EAM is required to ensure ongoing monthly sales orders on regular stock items, as well as encourage usage of complimentary products and services on offer across the product and service categories.
Salary: Negotiable including corporate benefits
B.Com Degree or relevant business qualification preferred
B.Sc or relevant Food science Qualification advantageous
Min. 3-5 years’ External Sales Consulting experience in a manufacturing environment (Chemical Sector)
The suitable candidate should have experience dealing with Food Manufacturing Customers - but from the “ Chemical Industry” - not FMCG
Sales of additives to Food Manufacturing Customers experience
Knowledge of the food manufacturing industry
Knowledge of raw food ingredients / additives
Strong computer literacy and SAP exp.
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
Fluent in English and Afrikaans, both verbal and written
Customer Service orientated with a proven track record of successful sales and exceeding sales targets
Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and strong problem solving skills
Energetic, persistent and persuasive
Professional, ethical, willing to go the extra mile to meet business objectives
SA Citizen with valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
Willing to travel and meet with clients on a daily basis.
Willing to attend trade shows as and when required
Duties / Responsibilities:
Cold calls and new business development
Manage and retain clients acquired.
Producing daily sales reports
Producing and delivering quotations
Managing orders through to distribution
Supply Chain/Logistics & Warehouse knowledge
Weekly forecasting of stock items required across the portfolio
New product requests and notification to management and procurement for new items requested
Weekly reporting of sales, back orders and insights to Management
Assisting with market research where required on competitors
Producing relevant formal proposal documents and presentations as required
Use of the CRM platform and monthly reporting.
Competitive information on customers and the industry.
Delivering the agreed sales OPI’s and CPI’s.
Drive Company’s business in the market to achieve and surpass sales and business goals and objectives.
Recommend creative selling techniques based on market and product knowledge.
