Build franchise capability through ongoing coaching, workshops, round-tables etc.
Administration and ongoing communication and alignment will most often interact with franchise organisations, primarily at leadership team level – PO, Ops Director, HR Director and Region Coaches. Nature of the communication is dictated by the ‘Core Routine’ programme, structured QBR’s/similar, annual OCA, in-restaurant field visits and ongoing telephonic follow up.
Problems are primarily focused around ensuring alignment between the company’s Operating standards and requirements and need-state in the Franchise business.
Processes are typically well defined and require, on occasion, only minor adjustment to accommodate local custom. Issues and crises need to be handled appropriately and escalated with the required level of support and sensitivity. Business and results analysis to be carried out regularly to understand needs and how to best support and follow up.
Leadership and related decision making, is made with the Franchisee – hence by influence, not direct control. Final authority, on one system approach to be deployed in support of the company’s standards and IFA/FPM requirements, lies with the REX Director & COO – it is the role of this function to assist in aligning Franchisee to change and ensuring it is executed as desired.
Primary responsibility of franchisees in SA is not to innovate but to execute.
During execution of certain tools, systems or processes insights may be found that will be fed back to REX to allow for changes to ensure systems are rolled-out and executed consistently.
