An exciting opportunity lies with one of our superb client who is looking to fill a Business Information Manager vacancy. The successful candidate will report directly into the Financial Controller, with the following direct reports: Promotions Accountant, Business Information Coordinator, Fleet Controllers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible to do strategic modelling on future strategies as required by senior management and Directors.
Responsible to develop and maintain a management information system (data warehousing), building a library of key business information for trending, strategic input and operational decision making.
Responsible to ensure data integrity between various sources of information such as data warehouse
Responsible to ensure that the Finance Department receives the required information from the Marketing and Sales Departments in order to ensure accurate promotional accruals are captured as well as to provide up to date, accurate and meaningful feedback on promotional and related expenses.
In conjunction with the Financial Manager, has a shared responsibility for the effective, efficient and timely preparation, finalization and distribution of key financial information and processes.
Responsible to manage the fleet in a cost-effective manner.
Summarizing business information (retail statistics) logically into clear and concise reports, graphs and presentations, in order to draw conclusions and make recommendations that will improve overall business effectiveness and profitability.
Ensure effective non-brand inventory management by providing meaningful information and recommendations on a monthly basis to the marketing team.
Provide feedback on promotional expenses to the Executive Management team in order to identify risks and mitigation thereof to protect the profitability of the business
Manage and approve all promotional Debit and Credit notes on a timely basis
Ensure that monthly account reconciliations for promotions and fixed assets are prepared and reviewed
Be responsible for ensuring that the Finance Department receives all documents and information from
Marketing and Sales department to ensure the accurate and timeous processing of all transactions to the General Ledger
0 Ensure that the company policies and Corporate Accounting Manual are adhered to at all times.
Ensure the proper control and cost effective management of the fleet program which includes tendering, purchases and disposals, terminal damages and maintenance of vehicles.
Compile and publish the monthly Reporting Pack, ensuring consistent information is used by the various departments.
Updating and Control of the Fixed Asset Register.
In conjunction with the Financial Manager, prepare, finalize, present and distribute key financial reporting deliverables such as MPR, MRI, QFR and related quarterly reports.
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and processing of monthly volume discounts.
Ensure the accurate preparation and submission of weekly retail statistics into Longview and distribution of related reports
Ensure the monthly forecast is updated for all the retail statistics
Responsible for the annual financial plan process on the Retail statistics, Income Statement and balance sheets. Specifically promotional expenses and fixed assets.
Respond to ad hoc finance queries in a timely and effective manner.
Appoint, manage, train and retain direct reports ensuring a high performance culture in the department. Submission of Financial information, Actual, Plan & forecast into the group reporting software, Longview.
Annual Update of Promotional and fleet related permanent promotional items.
Desired Experience & Qualification
CIMA plus 3-5 years commercial experience in a related environment; or B.Comm plus 3-5 years commercial experience in a related environment.
Demonstrated skills in contributing to the effectiveness and profitability of the company advantageous. Excellent Computer Skills : Advanced PC skills including Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint

Market related salary
