Solutions Architect
Introduction
An insurance company based in Pretoria has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solutions Architect with 5 - 8 years’ experience in the following: application design, data design, system integration, ICT industry standards, services design, solutions modelling and application development. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinate the architectural design and implementation of a solution in alignment with Enterprise Architecture vision.
Description
Key performance Areas:
Responsible for development for complex components in IT Solutions
Reduce IT environment complexity and cost through consolidation and rationalization
Develop the solution architectures for the different projects
Combine various domain (business, data, application, and technology) architectural as-is and to-be models, with roadmaps to create an overall solution architecture and roadmap with the supporting transition architectures
Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the solution to the business
Alignment between the EA and the SA to manage project risk and compliance
Responsible for Solutions Architecture
Drive optimization of legacy applications for increased efficiency and reduced costs
Consider re-using of existing asset and cost saving in all roadmaps and designs (Driving cost down) to support the IT Departmental objectives
Drive digitization and modernization by leveraging new technologies and architectures
Member of the IT Governance Committees
Make joint decisions based on the IT needs of the organization
Minimum Requirements:
B. Eng. Software Engineer / BSc Computer Science / Relevant IT Degree
TOGAF Certification (advantage)
Microsoft AZURE Architect Technologies Certification (advantage)
4 years’ experience in Cloud architecture
5 years’ experience in IT application architecture
4 years’ experience in project management
5-8 years’ experience in the following: application design, data design, system integration, ICT industry standards, services design, solutions modelling and application development
8 years’ experience in long term insurance industry
Knowledge:
Technology: Microsoft Tech Stack (SQL, .Net, C#, VB.NET (advantage), Azure Tech Stack, Angular 7.x+ and Bootstrap 4.x+, HTML5 and CSS3, JavaScript
WCF Restful / Web API Entity Framework (.NET and .NET Core) .NET Core Micro Services
WCF, WPF, ASP.net; MVC, OOP, .NET Framework,
MVC Web Applications
IT Governance: COBIT, ITIL, ISACA, Kanban, Scrum, DevOps
Development: Scripting, Programming, Interfacing, Object- Oriented Programming, Design Patterns
Infrastructure: Network, Server, Workstation, Peripherals, Security
Frameworks: TOGAF, Zachman, ACORD or related
Understanding digital and emerging technologies
Designing solutions taking operability, cost, and business processes into account
Understands the broader business environment in which they work from an
industry, organization, Business Unit, and role perspective.
