Based in Walkerville Gauteng, our client requires an HR Officer to provide HR support and HR Administration in various HR functions, ie payroll for salaries, employee relations, recruitment, T&D, SAP administration.
Duties & Responsibilities
Daily HR administration: Maintaining employee files
Leave capturing and management
Assisting staff with any clocking queries
Change of banking details
Update employee personal information
Assisting employees with general issues
Confirmation of employment
Payroll: Performing monthly salaries and assisting staff with any payroll related queries
Monitoring daily attendance
HR Monthly Payments
Conducting the induction process for new employees including the completion of all HR related documents.
Conducting the termination process for all employees exiting the company
Assisting employees with their Pension, extended family policy and wills
Assisting with issuing of appropriate Disciplinary Warnings to factory staff and keeping track thereof.
Arranging Psychological counselling for staff on a weekly basis or when needed
Managing, organizing and arranging Training for staff according to the Workplace Skills Plan, and on request
Managing, organizing and arranging the Learnership Program for staff members
Completion of the workplace skills plan and annual training report
Ensuring the WCA is up to date and submitted on an annual basis
Recruitment and Selection of junior positions
Assisting with work permits, i.e. scheduling appointments and having documents translated when needed
Assisting employees with UIF documentation for maternity or when leaving the company
Minute taker at Union Meetings
Assisting employees with personal loans
Ensuring the skills matrix, certificate of competencies are up to date
Liaising with phone company in upgrading phone contracts, arranging new cellphones and 3G contracts on request, sending damaged/ faulty cellphones for repairs
Assisting with certification of documents when necessary
Assisting employees with Road Accident Fund Claims and transportation when needed
Ensuring that first aid supplies are always available to issue to first aiders according to health and safety requirements
Arranging and organizing travel, i.e. flights, accommodation, visas, transfers, forex, car rentals
Any other reasonable instruction that can be expected from an employee in the capacity of HR Officer
Desired Experience & Qualification
A recognized 3-year qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ HR generalist experience.
Sound knowledge and implementation of relevant HR-related legislation.
SAP would be advantageous
Strong MS Office - Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power- point)
Strong soft skills (Problem solving, decision making, conflict management, meeting management, HR management, Lateral thinking, Result Orientation).
Sound knowledge of logistic processes, production processes, production planning, production time and methods.
Good communication and report writing skills.
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and high standards of conformity
Required to work overtime and/or weekends when required.
Valid driver’s license and own transport
