SALES CONSULTANT - BTS Branch: Back To School
A vacancy exits for a qualified and experienced Sales Consultant - BTS at our Back to School Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing the current school base by efficiently selling goods and services, while achieving the gross profit goals that are assigned to them.
Skills and Abilities:
Good Communication Skills are essential; person must be well spoken and fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
A pleasant and controlled manner of dealing with people at all times.
An enthusiastic, outgoing person who is self-confident, with a positive attitude is desired for this position.
Valid Driver’s License (Code 08) is essential
Proficient in MS Office with excellent computer skills knowledge.
Must have good telephone skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to listen and interpret information accurately.
Planning and organising skills
Experience, qualifications and knowledge:
Successful candidate must have excellent furniture product knowledge.
Price list knowledge.
Knowledge on Axapta will be beneficial.
Knowledge of company policy with regards to customer service.
Knowledge of the services the company has to offer.
Knows the general operation of the company.
Knowledge of delivery routes and times.
Good computer skills are essential (Excel, MS Word, etc)
At least a senior certificate or equivalent qualification.
Maintain and Grow Customer Base
Review sales history of previous season to determine and plan calling schedule
Develop a plan of action in conjunction with management regarding recovering lost business.
Call on existing and potential schools
Devising methods of increasing the return on existing schools
Doing regular follow up calls on potential schools
Assessing schools requirement accurately
Effective presentations to potential schools, using innovative methods to get the point across.
Compiling contact lists utilising a range of resources for collecting information to create, maintain and retain customer base.
Identify the opposition within area
Work within the framework of budget turnover and gross profit.
Selling Goods and Services
Providing customer with stock information.
Prepare quotes for various schools and negotiate where necessary.
Follow-up on outstanding quotes and where necessary arrange courtesy visits.
Ordering any non-catalogue items for particular schools and making sure that these are available when required for the boxes.
Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing
Resolving a range of customer queries.
Receiving incoming calls
Maintain ongoing customer service
Promoting Client as a whole, not only BTS
Co-ordinate School Handouts
Co-ordinate dates and times for school handouts.
Schedule all handouts ensuring that no duplicate handouts booked.
Coordinate staff resources to assist with the various handouts.
Organise petty cash, speed point card facilities.
Provide staff with training regarding customer payments
Accurately record all issues with regards to handouts and resolve as soon as possible
Implement regional marketing promotions and strategies for Back to School
Take part in catalogue selection process
Plan all Back to School launches: invites, venues, guest speakers and prizes
Create and maintain market awareness of Back to School supplies capability
Constantly liaise with the marketing department to arrange campaign and promotions.
Arrange promotions and marketing events at schools
Liaising with schools regarding requirement listings,
Update schools requirements lists and action sheets
Ensuring staff to capture and load these lists.
Administering petrol expenses occurred.
Assisting in the office wherever possible
Ensuring that all paperwork for schools are done correctly and accurately.
Following up missing monies / boxes
Passing on the correct information to all BTS personnel so that it can be filtered down
Cursory supervision of permanent store staff and casuals to ensure that all criteria are understood and being met.
Complete new business and lost business reports and submit to manager.
At end of season, assisting in allocating the cash
Take part and prepare for season wrap up session
Partake in stock take
Count stock and record quantities into scanner
Participate with second check where required
