Regional Sales Manager
A vacancy in Durban for a Regional Sales Manager, Durban, reporting to the Commercial Director. Ideal candidate will have a B Degree or MBL/MBA with 5 years management experience in senior sales and a marketing role. Diploma in Packaging will also be an advantage
Optimising market opportunities and ensuring the achievement of sales budgets
Defining and implementing a sales operating plan, B2B strategy and customer profitability
Growing the identified market segments in professional Channel through market trend and internal analysis.
Identify and execute route to market opportunities for Speciality plant, packaging and 3rd party agents.
Identifying product development and innovation in conjunction with the product development team (Mitact)
Building strategic partnerships with key customers (Innovation, Value engineering and critical to quality elements).
Manage the Critical to quality elements of Key Account customers such as Unilever, SABMiller, Danone etc.
On-going tracking and recording of competitor activities and barrier to entry strategies.
Participation in the development and implementation of regional business strategies
Negotiating pricing and contracts with key customers
Gaining market intelligence and actively seeking market opportunities to stimulate growth and retain market share
Facilitating the resolution of constraints to ensure optimal supply to customers
Development and management of sales team
Manage, develop, coach, control and motivate the sales force to develop their skill to ensure that a high professional standard is achieve and monthly sales target and KPI target are met
Manage Sales team to ensure targets are delivered through people management, performance review, reward and individual recognition
Recruit new staff into team focusing on strong sales competencies and ensure that they perform well through coaching and monitoring skill
Conduct regular sales and business reviews to evaluate Sales Advisor performance
Lead the top-to-top meeting with key customers to ensure strong relationship and remove business obstacles, aligning with long term company direction
Management and co-ordination of projects or initiatives in collaboration with customers
A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s degree or MBL/ MBA)
At least 5 years management experience ideally gained in senior sales and marketing role
Previous experience in the packaging industry and possession of a National Packaging diploma will be an advantage
Familiarity with all aspects of costing and pricing
Above average business communication and interpersonal skills
Good negotiation skills
Excellent leadership skills
