A well-established Healthcare Services company has a vacancy for a General Manager - Marketing.
The General Manager: Marketing will assist and support the CEO and Director: Marketing and Business Development in the execution of marketing and communications related strategies, projects and tasks. Although the incumbent will report to the Director: Marketing and Business Development, the role will have a strong reporting link to the CEO. The General Manager: Marketing should also work closely with senior leaders in the Group to enhance and align marketing efforts.
We are looking for an enthusiastic General Manager: Marketing who will not only execute in the trenches, but also provide strategic leadership, from a market and product perspective, to the Company’s management team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Build and enhance recognition of the Company’s brand and products.
Work closely with CEO and Director: Marketing to define, implement, and manage the Company’s marketing strategy for optimal performance and results.
Develop, manage and maintain the Corporate Identity of the Company together with other members in the Marketing Department.
Craft messaging and positioning in the market; conduct competitive and market analysis to determine and highlight Group’s key differentiators.
Create and manage marketing, positioning and communications channels and tools for the Group, its subsidiaries, stakeholders as well as its products and services. These include both digital and traditional communications platforms and channels such as several websites and mobi-sites; dedicated mailboxes; Facebook page; the Company’s App; the Company’s LinkedIn page; company profiles; brochures; presentations; newsletters for clients; internal quarterly newsletter, UniFYI; emailers, amongst other.
Build, further develop, and leverage relationships with industry media to expand the Company’s brand, mission, and movement in the healthcare market.
Work with internal stakeholders to plan, create, and launch creative campaigns, events and compelling stories around company announcements and initiatives that resonate with stakeholders and customers.
Researches and analyses market trends, demographics, pricing schedules, competitor products, and other relevant information to form and refine marketing strategies.
Lead customer-centric thinking and create marketing programs to meet these target markets.
Establish goals and create strategy for meeting marketing deliverables and metrics; work with the Director: Marketing to establish team and individual goals and metrics.
Work closely with MD’s, Directors and GM’s to enhance and align marketing efforts in the Group.
Be an effective leader and ensure all marketing programs are successful, metrics-driven, and goal-oriented.
Manage the Group’s total marketing function inclusive of Digital Marketing, Design Studio and Events.
Build, manage and coach a high-performing marketing team
Develop and manage marketing budgets
Identify competitors and evaluate their strategies and positioning and devise counter-strategies
Desired Experience & Qualification
The successful candidate should be able to work cooperatively and effectively with different personality types as well as other departments, vendors and clients. Additionally, the incumbent know their own weaknesses and can work around these shortcomings through delegation, collaboration and excellent resource utilisation.
A summary of required experience and qualifications are as follows:
Master’s degree in Marketing or Marketing Management
Doctor degree advantageous
8 - 10 years relevant experience in marketing/advertising
Experience in the healthcare industry
Experience in all aspects of developing and managing marketing strategies
Technical marketing skills
Proven experience in customer and market research
Digital marketing skills
Experience with relevant software applications
