Well known Fresh Produce supplier and processors has a vacancy for a Procurement Manager who will be primarily responsible for end-to-end product management for specific product categories. The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the daily procurement activities from planning, buying, assessing quality and pricing of product which predominantly is fresh produce. Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and costing.
Implement appropriate service level agreement to properly evaluate the performance of suppliers, and report on this on a regular basis.
Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance, according to an appropriate Service Level Agreement, on a continuous basis.
Work with internal stakeholders (production, technical and sales teams) to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements.
Responsible for order placement timing, supply / demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier Performance.
Control and monitor expenses against approved budgets.
Develop procurement strategies and formulate growing programs.
Set and plan how to achieve supplier accreditation and service level management.
Initiate and keep track of orders.
Reconcile or resolve order discrepancies with suppliers.
Monitor delivery times to ensure they are on time.
Maintain good relationships with suppliers and renegotiate prices on a regular basis.
Administration, pricing, and reporting, as necessary.
Supplier visits and monitoring of crop growth cycles.
Benchmarking availability, quality, and prices weekly on the national markets.
Travel to farmers.

Desired Experience & Qualification
A degree in agriculture, supply chain or logistics will be beneficial.
Computer Proficiency: Proven ability to utilise and develop computerized spreadsheets, excel pivots tables and Business Intelligence reporting.
AVCASA and FERTASA beneficial
Ability to organize workload, adapt to change quickly, and meet pressurised deadlines.
