A large Food Manufacturing company in Cape Town has an opportunity for a Senior Quality Controller within its modern Production Facility. Manage the full production process, ensure specifications are followed and Good Manufacturing Practices are always adhered to
Duties & Responsibilities
Degree or Diploma in Food Science and Microbiology or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience gained within a Food Manufacturing concern
Minimum of 2 years of experience gained as a Supervisor or Team Leader
Ensure all products dispatched to meet the business and customers specifications.
Ensure timeous communication of internal rejection to the production department to ensure sufficient time for remaking or repacking.
Ensure proper adherence to quality and food safety systems throughout the factory
Timeously escalate any food safety risks to relevant management to prevent system failures.
Ensure critical control points are adhered to and verified.
Provide support to the department head/manager and production team by ensuring that the quality of the products is consistent through adherence to QASs and QAPs.
Ensure adherence to training schedule.
Promote a culture of quality & food safety on the factory floor through awareness programs.
Participate in problem-solving/root cause analysis regarding quality deviations in the production process.
Conduct internal inspections in alignment to quality and food safety system requirements.
Participate in NPD factory trials as and when required.
Lead product quality evaluation sessions and shelf-life studies
Lead the hygiene team Provide support to engineering in maintenance and cleaning
Support to production for deep cleaning
Respond to audit reports
Ensure laundry procedures
Conduct hygiene inspections
Follow up on non-conformance reports
Ensure all paperwork is accurately completed
Summary reports and verification of Hygiene standards
Provide training and development to operators, quality and hygiene team members
Monitoring and evaluation of customer process performance trackers
Manage shift rotation
