Looking for a successful CFO to join the team in City Deep.
Duties & Responsibilities
The CFO will be required to take control of the entire financial function and supply chain management within the company and subsidiary companies.
Financial Management & Reporting
Be responsible for all aspects of financial management, working capital, cash flow management, pricing and margin management, cost containment, management accounts, board reporting, financial & business analysis and budgeting.
Pricing policies - determine appropriate pricing policies and margin management for the company and divisions. Work closely with Principals, sales and customers to ensure a win-win is achieved in price negotiations.
Business partner - Partner with heads to maximize revenue and margins.
Understand and implement currency hedging strategies and eliminate risk to the company and also provide clients with certainty of pricing.
Cost management and allocation – ensure that an appropriate cost management strategy is developed and implemented.
Review and analyze business operations and systems (current and future) and associated plans to ensure financial effectiveness and sustainability.
Company Admin Management
General management - lead and develop an efficiently structured and well run finance department.
Risk management - develop an appropriate risk management framework across the business.
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations for governance and compliance.
Gather, analyze and present recommendations to the business, executive committee and/or board
Business partner - partner with heads to maximize profits and cash flow. Establish and maintain strong relationships so as to identify their needs and offer a full range of business solutions.
Must ensure that the most appropriate operating system is employed to deliver best of breed financial and business solutions.
Contribute to development of an owner managed culture to ensure heads take ownership of the financial performance of their divisions
Initiate, plan and drive projects to improve business.
Supply Chain Management
Stock management - ensure that an appropriate stock management system is implemented and controlled within the business to ensure optimal and efficient stock holding to meet customer fluctuating demands, to minimize unnecessary stock holding and eliminate wastage.
Warehouse and distribution logistics - ensure that company logistics are efficiently managed and controlled.
Management of systems required for efficient operation of the business. This will entail integrating with other cloud based platforms.
Must be hands on
Establish and maintain external relationships with banks, customers, auditors and principals.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Must be a CA (SA).
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Must have a strong grounding in a recognizable financial operating system.
Detailed working knowledge of ACCPAC is advantageous.
Demonstration of appropriate ongoing personal development.
Skills & Experience
Must be an experienced group financial director.
Skill set should include all the generic CFO skills such as financial services, statutory compliance, solid Tax knowledge, VAT knowledge and Forex hedging.
Strong skills and experience in strategic financial management
A background in technology and digital driven environment is advantageous.
Experience in a business that imports, sells and distributes capital equipment and generates annuity income through ongoing sales of consumables or 'click' revenue
Must understand costing and quoting methodologies and how to apply these throughout the business
Must have proven experience in reviewing, developing and implementing new systems and processes across the business.
Has worked within a company with a diverse product/brand resulting in a portfolio of business units which expand and contract continuously
Has experience in company restructurings
Must have a track record of managing a diversified staff complement
Has extensive experience in pricing policy and development of pricing models
Comfortable to operate within an environment with active shareholder involvement
Understands incentive models including commission structures and will be instrumental in developing a model aligned to the future direction and performance of the company and its people.
Experience in the design and execution of short-term and long-term incentives within a non-listed entity to deliver value to shareholders.
Must have strong negotiation, project management, analytical, decision making and interpersonal skills
Experience operating within the African continent is advantageous
Must be a high EQ leader that inspires strong team performance
