We're recruiting for the position of Business Development Manager who will be tasked with driving business development activities, specifically driving the sales of financial services and payment products. The overall purpose of this position will be to drive commercial and technical development discussions with external partners and to drive customer acquisition and retention in the payment technologies market.
The ideal candidate will have a very strong track record in building, developing and maintaining business partnerships across digital channels; a strong background engaging with customers at Executive level; and an extensive product development background to help in identifying high yielding partnerships and propositions in the payment technology market.
Duties & Responsibilities
Driving business development within the payment technologies market
Driving commercial and technical development discussions with external partners
Driving customer acquisition, retention and GMV growth
Building and maintaining business relationships across digital channels
Working with technical, marketing and commercial teams to ensure targets are met
Identifying joint customer segments and industry players to approach with joint ventures
Preparing and delivering business reviews with internal and external stakeholders
Managing complex partner negotiations, etc.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Matric and a three year Degree in Business, Commerce, Economics or similar field
An Honours Degree and an MBA will be highly beneficial
At least 8 years experience in business and product development
Experience dealing with senior level stakeholders in a customer and partner enterprise environment
Strong commercial expertise, particularly in digital or eCommerce related industries
Strong track record of partner account management
Experience working within complex and diverse partner ecosystems
Excellent communication and presentation skills
