Job Description:
Leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation, providing a dynamic range of products and services is seeking a Finance Assistant who will ensure compliance with all accounting and finance requirements of the company and assist the Financial Manager where necessary
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Job Outputs:
Cashbook recons and updating
Ensuring that various bank accounts are reconciled and recons are processed weekly
Stock Counts Every 6 Months
Requesting GRV adjustments and stock holding reports from distributors, matching GRV with supplier head office invoice
Capturing stock invoices and adjustments on pastel
Running inventory valuation reports from pastel, matching with stock holding
Managing year-end stock count
Preparing COGS reports
Preparing low shelf life reports
Preparing purchase orders
Delivering tender documents to neighbouring countries
Monitoring out of stock products
Completing payment requisitions
Pastel Partner and Evolution Weekly
Managing capturing on Pastel
Managing GRV Stock
Daily Bank Accounts
Monitoring bank balances
Loading payments
Monthly Balance Sheet Recons
Maintaining balance sheet items such as accruals, suspense accounts and accounts payable
Weekly Raw Material Pricing and Payments
Establishing relationships with vendors and confirming pricing
Ensuring timely payments to suppliers
Weekly Debtors Recons and Client Visits
Managing accounts
Conducting regular customer visits to state hospitals, depots and other customers to improve relationships
Resolving queries relating to payments
Reconciling statements from a selected distribution organisation with the company ledger on excel monthly
Receivable and payables
Ensuring that cashbook allocations are processed weekly
Reviewing accounts payable age analysis weekly
Providing comments on age analysis for overdue customers and suppliers
Checking invoices to verify overcharges received from state clients
Processing journal for decimal write offs on a monthly basis
Monthly Fixed Asset Management
Maintaining asset registers for the company
Recording all assets purchased on a monthly basis
Managing additions, disposals and calculation of depreciation of assets done monthly
Managing company credit or petrol card facilities
General
Managing ad hoc activities given by the direct line manager

Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications:
Matric/Grade 12 (Minimum C aggregate for Mathematics and Accounting on Higher
Grade – Copy of matric results required)
B. Com Accounting Degree or equivalent qualification is compulsory
Experience
Minimum of 2 years finance experience
